Pilates "Fixes" for Common Shoulder Issues: Muscle Balance, Range of Motion and Strength

October 18th
11:00 AM — 2:00 PM (KST)

In this 9-hour workshop, we will be looking at the common biomechanical stresses on the upper body, common shoulder issues, how posture effects the range of motion and efficiency of the arms and upper body, and Pilates exercises to address these issues and stresses. A look at releases, strengthening exercises and the use of tension and relaxation to do both will be covered with Pilates Mat and props, Reformer & Tower, and Chair and Pilates Arc exercises. The mobility (range of motion) and stability (control) of the entire upper body will be addressed and we will discuss and perform exercises to develop balanced muscle strength and ROM in all arms and shoulder movements and integrate them through the trunk and core for better efficiency and engagement overall.

We will explore muscle balance, range of motion, and strength of the upper body using Pilates Mat and props, Reformer & Tower and Chair & Barrels as well as develop sequences for each section.
